The hills are alive with the sound of music, once more!

After 16+ long months, live music is BACK at Westben. From July 30 - Aug 1st, 2021, Westben held a celebratory WELCOME BACK WEEKEND on the site of our future open-air Willow Hill Amphitheater & inside our safely reconfigured Barn. As audience members settled on The Hill for the first time on Friday night, a familiar communal excitement built between audience members, volunteers & artists. Appropriately, the first song to ever fill the amphitheater was The Sound of Music performed by Donna Bennett. The night continued with a fabulously eccentric array of local artists who each brought the energy and talent we had all missed, back to Westben.

Clouds and rain brought our Saturday concert inside The Barn, but this did not dampen our excitement! A different kind of special feeling was created today as we enjoyed returning to a familiar space again after such a long time away. The Lemon Bucket Orkestra brought funk, passion, and joy back to The Barn and had audience members safely shoulder dancing in their seats. The boisterous, lively music even had volunteers dancing the polka by the Milk Shed in the rain!

The Welcome Back Weekend closed with none other than Robert Michaels. Playing the guitar he built himself, Robert had the audience smiling from ear to ear. Michaels created romantic and playful energy in The Barn. What a perfect way to spend the last day of music for our welcome weekend.

It was a joy to have new and familiar friends at Westben and we look forward to safely continuing to create community through music with you! To see upcoming events at Westben visit our “What’s On Calendar”.
