Jun Li (J. J.) began piano studies at the age of five. He is currently a scholarship student in The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artist Program, studying with Li Wang.
J. J. took highest honors in many competitions and festivals, including the top prizes at 2014 and 2015 Canadian Music Competitions. In 2015, the Toronto Star named J. J. one of twelve inspiring Torontonians under the age of 12. In February 2016, as an 11-year-old, he was awarded the grand prize in CBC Piano Hero Contest, CBC’s annual search for Canada’s top amateur piano performer. Same year, as the youngest contestant, he won First Prize under Junior Category in Midwest International Piano Competition in Iowa. In 2016 J. J. has been named one of thirty hottest Canadian 30 classical musicians under 30. He has been featured on CBC news and Toronto Metro Morning. J. J. enjoys active performing schedule in the Rising Star concerts throughout Canada. In March Jun li Bui became a prize winner in Aarhus International Piano Competition in Denmark.
