Olivia Rapos is 14 years old. She has been singing in public since she was 6. Olivia was a 4 time Northumberland Idol winner by the time she was 9. At 9, Olivia was a special guest of Belleville’s annual For The Love Of A Song concert series. At 10 years old, she had a starring role in the world premiere of the Canadian opera, The Auction at Westben in Campbellford for which she received special mention in Opera Canada Magazine (Wayne Gooding, Fall 2012). Olivia has thrice been a featured vocalist at Warkworth’s Lilac Festivalas well as Warkworth’s Art In The Park. On numerous occasions, Olivia has performed with the Commodores Jazz Orchestra and the Bay City Band. Olivia has been featured in the Toronto Star in a series on child prodigies and has been profiled by the CTV National News. In February 2012, 11 year old Olivia performed her first 2 hour solo concert to help launch her debut CD of jazz standards, Jazz Maiden. In September 2013, 10 days past her 12th birthday, Olivia became the youngest performer in the history of the Port Hope All Canadian Jazz Festival. In December 2013, she performed the title role in Westben’s musical adaption of The Little Match Girl. In December 2015, Olivia will make her third appearance in Bob Trennum and Friends’ Songs Of Theme Season at Victoria Hall in Cobourg. Olivia currently studies jazz with York University’s Rita Di Ghent and classical voice with soprano, Donna Bennett. In 2012, Olivia achieved First Class Honours in Grade 6 Voice from the Royal Conservatory Of Music. Olivia is in 9th grade at Campbellford District High School where she is a member of both the senior and junior jazz ensembles.
