Mezzo-soprano & Conductor
Known to Westben audiences as the mezzo-soprano soloist in Vivaldi's Gloria, and as Zorah in Westben's SAMSON, Kim Dafoe has also thrilled audiences as the Mother Superior in Westben's 1998 production of The Sound of Music. Kim has also performed and directed in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Kiss me Kate, Into the Woods, Evita, West Side Story, Grease, Fiddler on the Roof and Jesus Christ Superstar.
She has worked with other groups and choirs including, most recently, the Tweed National Theatre, the Mississauga Youth Theatre, the Cantabile Choirs of Kingston, the Tweed Summer Youth Theatre, the Kingston Children's Dance Theatre and the Toronto Children's Chorus. Performances with the Kingston Symphony include as Mercedes in Carmen, as Ruth in Pirates of Penzance and as alto soloist in Duruflé's Requiem.
She has also appeared with the Bridge Street United Church Choir, and the Eastern Ontario Concert Orchestra. With both Bachelor of Music and Education degrees, she currently is the head of the arts department at Centre Hastings Secondary School, where she also teaches music, drama, and musical theatre.
