I Double You is an eight piece band lead by Ian Wright, featuring some of Canada's finest young musicians. Ian is one of Toronto's most recognized award winning artists in the creative music scene. With influences from Bonobo, Gorillaz, and Flying Lotus, to Joni Mitchell, Radiohead, and Stars, I Double You has a unique perspective on electronic downtempo music, with a blend of acoustic and electronic instruments, bringing two full sets of captivating original compositions to life.
"I Double You is by far one of the most absorbing acts we have had on our stage. Conducting an eclectic nine piece ensemble from a drum kit, Wright welcomes the audience, even with his back facing them. The down tempo vibe of IDY's performance ensures swaying, shuffling, and some shoes on the dance floor. An absolute treat." - 3030 Dundas West
“Ian Wright is an exceptionally talented young drummer. He plays with a maturity and expressiveness that is rare in young musicians. Tasteful, dynamic and exciting are all words I would use to describe his playing. He’s definitely one of my fav’s when it comes to the current crop of young drummers on the scene today.” - Mark Kelso
