day of the year! Special guest artists, activities, delicious food and wine are all waiting for
you at a private home surrounded by a magnificent garden near Warkworth, Ontario.

All in support of the Westben Arts Festival Theatre.

 Silent Auctions

Over 20 artists have donated their talents by painting beautiful Butterfly Houses which will be available at concerts June 6 to August 3, 2014 for Silent Auction bidding. They will also be available at the Here Comes The Sun Fundraiser June 21, 2014 which takes place in a Garden of a private home near Warkworth.

There will many wonderful Silent Auction items available for bid at the Here Comes The Sun! Fundraiser including many gardening themed items, theatre packages and jewellery.

Key Note Campaign

A World Class Piano comes to Westben!

 Finally, in our fourteenth season, we are pleased to announce the purchase of a world class musical instrument for our Barn stage! Beginning this summer, we welcome our very own Steinway & Sons concert grand piano into the Westben family.  The Steinway & Sons “Model D” concert grand piano is truly a musical marvel. These state-of-the-art musical instruments have graced all the best stages from Moscow to New York since first winning the gold medal at the 1867 Paris Exposition Universelle. Several international awards and 126 patents later, Steinway remains the choice of the majority of the world’s performing pianists. Our Steinway & Sons concert grand piano began life on July 20, 1973 when it was delivered to the Concert Division of Steinway Hall in New York City. As a part of the flagship fleet of the company’s performance instruments, it was sent to professional stages around New York City where it was played by a host of visiting Steinway artists. It was then owned privately until we discovered it last year.

Westben’s Key Note Campaign

 As these instruments can cost up to $150,000, we were thrilled to be able to buy ours for $65,000. Clearly, fundraising for such a purchase is a major challenge. Thanks to a generous grant from Celebrate Ontario for $40,000, we only have another $25,000 to go!

With this in mind, we are initiating the Key Note Campaign where we invite you to be a part of the Westben chapter of this world class instrument’s legacy. By contributing $300 to the Key Note Campaign, donors will have their name inscribed on the key of their choice on a commemorative piano poster. Or get two keys for $500! You can even donate in memory of someone special. Of course, any contribution is heartily accepted, and all contributors will receive a tax receipt along with a symphony of gratitude from a host of future performing artists, students and audiences for many years to come.

Meanwhile, there are many opportunities to enjoy the instrument this summer from the Piano Concerto Gala Weekend on June 29 & 30 to a special performance celebration featuring André Laplante right on the piano’s actual 40th birthday (July 20, 2013)!

If so, you may wish to support Westben’s ongoing fundraising initiative, the Fundscrip program.
