Westben is thrilled to present the world premiere of a brand new Canadian Folk Opera, The Auction. Commissioned by Westben with the assistance of the Ontario Arts Council, The Auction is composed by Juno Award-winning composer John Burge to a beautifully poignant English libretto created by Eugene Benson. Echoing with the dreams, memories and hopes of a family as they come to terms with selling their farm, the fully-staged production is directed and choreographed by Allison Grant. The all-star cast includes Bruce Kelly, Kimberly Barber, Donna Bennett, Olivia Rapos, Matthew Zadow, Keith Klassen and Tim Stiff. Philip Headlam conducts the Westben Chamber Orchestra.
