Còig (Ko-ig) is one of Cape Breton’s most captivating young bands famous for its driving tunes, haunting songs and infectious energy. All award-winning soloists in their own right, the group has recently won Roots/Traditional Group Recording of the Year (2015 East Coast Music Awards) Traditional Album of the Year (2014 Canadian Folk Music Awards), and Traditional/Roots Recording of the Year (2014 Music Nova Scotia Awards). Clearly, this is a Cape Breton Celtic kitchen party not to be missed! A bit of French, a bit of Irish, a wee dram of Gaelic and a full helping of Cape Breton Scotch: this is a mighty powerful fiddle cocktail from Còig.
