I hope you got the email or the Facebook entry or a tip from a Friend, but if you didn't ....
A Winter Soirée with the Adorno String Quartet “Excuse me! You are right in the middle of a string quartet!” Four life-long friends, twinkling with lively conversation, are eager to greet you for an unforgettable evening filled with merriment, musings & music. No stage, no tuxedos or ball gowns – just four fabulous artists, a few special friends and the sublime music of Beethoven. Meet:
The Beethoven String Quartet Project …
Created in 2007 by Brian Manker, solo cellist of l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, The Beethoven String Quartet Project aims to perform all the Beethoven String Quartets in the setting in which they were first presented: the private salon.
…and the Adorno Quartet
The Adorno Quartet was formed in 2007 for the purpose of presenting The Beethoven String Quartet Project. The members of the quartet are violinists Johannes Jansonius and Katherine Manker; violist Jasmine Schnarr and cellist Brian Manker. These wonderful artists have graciously donated many hours of their free time to rehearse together and have performed many concerts in private homes throughout Montreal.
Now coming to Campbellford!
We now welcome them and their wonderful project to Campbellford where they are offering this special evening as a fund-raiser for the Westben Arts Festival Theatre. The home of Milt & Marian Jewell is the setting for an incredible encounter with the music of Beethoven courtesy of these four musical friends from Quebec. Known both for their colourfully gregarious personalities as well as their wonderful artistry, the Adorno Quartet will offer a glittering evening of lively conversation, both verbal and musical. Experience Beethoven string quartets virtually from the inside out. Succulent seasonal refreshments will be served along with Beethoven’s String Quartet in A minor, Op. 132, and the String Quartet in C Major, Op. 59, No.3. There will also be an enticing silent auction.
As space to this very special winter fund-raiser is limited to 50, we advise you to call for your tickets as soon as possible. Tickets are $50 per person, and can be obtained from the Westben box office (705) 653-5508
